Poem: The Best I Can

Narcissistic qualities call me Lex Luger

My mind is inferior, call me Lex Luthor

Iron fist mentality, Napoleonic ruler

Ice in my veins more cooler than a jeweler

I never left poetry, I breathe it, I speak it

Come a bit closer, smell, I wreak it

When sweat drips from my pores, I even leak it

I’m all about poetry and that ain’t a secret

I take breaks just like everyone else

From happiness to pain, whatever card is dealt

I’ve been through more in 5 years than anything you’ve ever felt

And yet I’m still holding out hope that my work sells

Nobody would believe me if I said I was the man

I always make sure I have more than one plan

Cause at the end of the day, no matter where I stand

I look to the heavens and tell my mom, I’m doing the best I can…
